La Cava del Tequila

Tucked inside the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase, La Cava del Tequila is a hidden gem that offers guests a deep dive into the rich heritage and flavors of Mexico’s most iconic spirit: tequila. With its dim lighting, rustic stone walls, and intimate atmosphere, La Cava feels more like a cozy underground cantina than a theme park bar. But don’t let its size fool you—this little spot packs a big punch in both ambiance and experience.

La Cava del Tequila is home to an impressive collection of over 200 tequilas, mezcals, and other agave-based spirits. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a curious newcomer, there’s something here to suit every palate. The bar is staffed by knowledgeable Tequila Ambassadors who are more than happy to guide you through the menu, explain the differences between blanco, reposado, and añejo, and even recommend a custom flight based on your preferences.

One of the standout features of La Cava is its signature margaritas, which have earned a cult following among Disney fans. These aren’t your average frozen concoctions—think handcrafted cocktails made with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The Avocado Margarita is a fan favorite, blending tequila with melon liqueur, fresh avocado, and lime juice for a creamy, refreshing twist. Other inventive options include the Blood Orange Margarita, the Jalapeño Margarita, and the dramatic Black Magic Margarita, which features activated charcoal and was co-created with actor Neil Patrick Harris.

In addition to drinks, La Cava offers a small but satisfying menu of light snacks, including fresh guacamole, queso with corn chips, and other tapas-style bites. These pair perfectly with the drinks and help round out the experience without weighing you down as you explore the rest of the park.

For those looking to take their tequila journey to the next level, La Cava also offers the La Cava Experience—a guided tasting led by a certified Tequila Ambassador. This exclusive event walks guests through the history, production, and cultural significance of tequila, all while sampling rare and premium agave spirits not available anywhere else. Each tasting is paired with complementary flavors to enhance the experience, and the setting—La Hacienda de San Angel, overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon—adds an extra layer of elegance to the affair.

Despite its popularity, La Cava remains one of EPCOT’s more intimate venues, with limited seating and a cozy, cave-like interior. There’s often a line to get in, especially during festivals or weekends, but many guests agree it’s worth the wait. If you’re short on time, drinks are also available to go, so you can sip while strolling through the Mexico Pavilion.
